Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between an Elective and a Diagnostic ultrasound?
At The Ultrasound Studio LLC, we are unique because we offer both:
-
Elective Ultrasound: These are "keepsake" sessions (3D/4D) designed for family bonding and viewing your baby's features. No doctor’s order is required for these sessions.
-
Diagnostic Ultrasound: These are medical exams used to evaluate the health and development of the baby or mother. A physician’s order is required for all diagnostic studies.
2. Are your diagnostic scans the same as the ones done at a hospital?
Yes. We provide the exact same high-level diagnostic imaging you would receive at a hospital or large imaging center, but within the comfort and privacy of our modern studio. Because your scan is performed by a sonographer with 27 years of specialized experience in Obstetrics, you receive hospital-grade expertise in a much more relaxed environment.
3. How are my diagnostic results handled?
For all diagnostic studies, your images are sent to a board-certified radiologist for a formal review. A detailed medical report will be delivered to your ordering physician within 48 hours, ensuring your healthcare team has the information they need quickly.
4. What makes your studio different from other elective imaging centers?
The most significant difference is the level of expertise behind the scan. While many studios use staff who are only trained to take basic photos and who are NOT diagnostic medical sonograhers.
At THE ULTRASOUND STUDIO, your session is performed by a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with more then 20 years of experience specializing in Obstetrics, Pediatric and general among may other areas in Sonography. This clinical background ensures that your session is handled with the highest level of technical skill and anatomical knowledge. We don't just take pictures, we understand the science behind every image.
5. What is the difference between 2D, 3D, and 4D Ultrasound?
-
2D Ultrasound: This is the traditional black-and-white "skeletal" view you typically see at your doctor's office. It is excellent for looking at internal structures and is the primary mode we use to find the baby's position and heartbeat.
-
3D Ultrasound: These are still images that show the surface features of your baby, providing a lifelike "photograph" of their face and features.
-
4D Ultrasound: This is 3D imaging in motion. It allows you to watch your baby’s movements—like sucking a thumb, yawning, turning—in real-time.
6. What about 8K and 10K "Ultrasound" images?
It is important to clarify that 8K and 10K are not ultrasound technologies. They are AI-generated enhancements created by third-party software.
While we provide you with high-quality 3D images that you can upload to these apps, we recommend caution. These are third-party services unaffiliated with our studio. When you upload your baby’s images to these platforms, you may be granting them permission to store or use those photos for their own purposes. Always review their privacy policies before sharing your personal ultrasound data.
7. How can I get the best possible images of my baby?
Hydration is the secret! We highly recommend you are well-hydrated for at least three full days before your scheduled appointment. Staying well-hydrated improves the volume and clarity of the amniotic fluid; the more fluid there is around the baby, the clearer and crisper your 3D and 4D images will be.
8. When is the best time to schedule my 3D/4D session?
Anytime you want to see your baby is the best time.
Maybe you have family in town and want to take a look, or you just need peace of mind, we've go you, We're Moms too!
For 1st trimester its best after 6 weeks.
2nd trimesters, anytime is good we'll get a great look and you'll be so amazed on how much your little one has grown.
3rd trimester and to get the best views of your baby’s facial features, we generally recommend scheduling your session between 26 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. During this window, the baby has developed enough "baby fat" to show defined features, but still has enough room to move into good positions.
9. What if my baby is shy or in a difficult position?
Babies have a mind of their own! If your little one is facing your spine or hiding behind their hands, we will still capture some super cute images of their tiny feet, hands, and tummy.
However, your experience is our top priority. If we are unable to see the baby’s face at all due to their position, we will invite you back for a return visit at no extra charge. We want you to leave our studio happy and with a plenty of photos you will cherish forever.
